XT-582 Tourer
An affordable XT option
The XT-582 Tourer retains the engineered features of the top of the range XT-912 Tourer but at a more affordable cost. The difference is in the engine. The XT-582 Tourer is complete with the Rotax 582 65HP dual ignition dual carburettor (DCDI) two stoke engine.
The 582 Tourer coupled with the Cruze wing is a dream to fly. The Cruze wing has a faired aerodynamic control frame with trimmer control. The trimmer can be set to allow the aircraft to fly at set speeds within an 8 knot range. This feature is standard on all Streak-3 and Cruze wings.
The Rotax 582 engine delivers plenty of power for a healthy climb rate and a hands off cruise speed of around 52 knots with the Cruze wing. With it’s comfortable and roomy XT seating and 70 litre fuel tank the XT-582 Tourer makes for a great cross country microlight.
The wide 6” wheels allow the XT-582 Tourer to handle rough airstrips and dual rear disc brakes are available as an option.
State of the art digital instrumentation is standard with the Skydat GX2. It features full engine and flight management with fuel flow and accumulated fuel usage in an easy to read glass panel.

The XT can be set up
easily by one person. The mast folds independently of
the motor. A gas strut is used to help lift the wing
onto the trike base and requires little effort.
High quality Fournales oleopneumatic rear shock absorbers
are used on the rear. On the front again high quality
double action adjustable shock absorbers. |

The wide rear 6 inch
wheels remain a feature as with our other models but
the wheel pants/spats have been redesigned and include
an integrated aerodynamic fin. The XT-582 comes standard
with the new Cruze wing. PX 20 mylar is used on the
leading edge. This cloth is only available in white
with a black cross weave, it is UV resistant (within
reason) and is easy to keep clean. |

|
|
|
There are two undersurface
panels and these can be coloured. The battens are enclosed
and the Cruze features our new easy to load batten ends.
No more struggling with bungies elastics or hard to
press springs. The Cruze has a super clean low drag
trailing edge, unseen on any other trikes wings. Setting
up a Cruze is a one man/woman operation as with all
Airborne wings. |

|
The Cruze looks the part
with it's low drag faired control frame, kingpost and
CNC milled control bar corners. The trimmer control
allows for easy operation and adjusts the trim speed
by approx10 knots. |

The fuel tank holds 72
litres giving the pilot enough airtime for extensive
cross country or circuit work. The tank design is state
of the art and integrates nicely into the trike base.
The CNC milled mast capture has allowed an efficient
means of attaching the engine mounts, the shock absorbers
and the seat frame. The mast is held in place by this
part which has been milled out of solid 6061 grade aluminium.
This method of manufacturing allows for very strong
and light weight components to be used. |

|
The park brake is standard
now on all Airborne trikes. We have added a neoprene
cover on the XT over the wheel hole in the fairing.
This stops cold air flowing into the cockpit and help
reduce drag. |

|
|
Lifting the Cruze onto
the XT base is simple and a one person operation. The
mast is lowered, the wing connected and a gas strut
helps you lift the wing. You can even use a strut to
keep the wing in the half down position to allow for
access into low hangers. |

|
|
|
The seat frame has been
widened but we have kept to our standard style of seat
which has proved to be one of the more comfortable trike
seats available. The cockpit has a tall windscreen for
improved wind deflection and the cockpit is cut away
at the sides to allow for easier pilot access. Seat
fabric is a high grade outdoor marine fabric. |

Instrument layout and
angle allows the pilot to easily monitor engine and
flight management. GX2 instrumentation is standard on
the XT series. Checkout the specs on this superb instrument

We use the Rotax 582
DI DC on our XTC-582. Over the years Rotax motors have
proven themselves to be a reliable engine option for
ultralights, to this day Rotax is the engine of choice
for most manufacturers. |
